Well Nintendo is doing this thing if you register your 3DS/3DS XL/2DS on Club Nintendo and Register the following games:

Mario Kart™ 7, Super Mario 3D Land™, Animal Crossing™: New Leaf, LEGO® City Undercover: The Chase Begins, Yoshi's New Island™, and Donkey Kong Country™ Returns 3D.

If you own a 3DS/3DSXL/2DS or bought one recently then you should just put the Club Nintendo Code on their website and any of the games on the list Club Nintendo code on. Then you should get Pokemon X or Y for free!

I didnt even recently bought a 3DS and it still worked. (Its only digitly so you need atleast 13861 blocks on your SD card to download.)
